Here’s how many people tuned in to last night’s leader’s debate on RTÉ

Over one million people tuned in to watch Ireland’s party leaders go toe-to-toe over the issues last night.

Ireland’s engagement with politics is climbing as Friday 26 nears, and a total of 1,109,000 people watched the Miriam O’Callaghan moderate the exchange of ideas.

Viewers tuned in from over 66 countries to see the final debate before the country heads to the polls.

An average of 622,000 viewers watched the full 90 minute debate, this came to almost half of the total audience share (47%) meaning almost half of all Irish television watchers were tuned in to the debate.

The debate is currently the most popular programme on RTÉ’s online streaming service, RTÉ Player.
