Here’s what the weather looks like for anyone that’s out on Halloween night

Weather

Take note if you’re trick or treating with the kids.

Given the surge of bonfires and fireworks that are commonplace on Halloween night, fire brigades around the country usually hope for rain on Halloween night.

For example, Dublin Fire Brigade were called out to more than 900 incidents last year as people across the city celebrated Halloween.

Well, they’ll be happy with tonight’s forecast.

Elsewhere, parents around the country will be spending a few hours out in the cold as they bring their children trick or treating. Who knows, maybe they’ll get some sweets too!

Anyway, an umbrella might be an item that’s worth stashing alongside the sweets because tonight is set to be a damp one.

Met Éireann have said that a spell of heavier rain is expected to push into the southwest later this afternoon.

These rainy conditions are expected to be widespread for a time tonight and heavy in places. The rain will persist over Ulster all night, but drier weather over Munster before midnight will push into much of Connacht and Leinster later, along with some patches of mist, drizzle and fog.

All in all, stay dry and stay safe this evening.
