Here’s what the weather looks like for the rest of the week

Weather

Strange weekend, wasn’t it?

A lot of wet stuff falling from the sky. Not sure what that was about. Presumably, normal service will now be resumed and we’ll return to the heatwave conditions that we’ve been enjoying for the past two months?

Well, perhaps not quite.

According to Met Éireann, this week is set to be the first week of truly Irish weather that we’ve had in some time.

While Monday will see temperatures of between 15 and 19 degrees, “scattered showers already in Atlantic coastal counties will become more widespread as the day progresses.”

Rain is on the menu for Tuesday as well, with Met Éireann predicting: “Showers will be concentrated in the west and north, merging to longer spells of rain here at times during the morning and early afternoon, before easing to scattered showers later.”

As for Wednesday… “The rain could be persistent and occasionally heavy in parts of the west and southwest during the afternoon and evening.”

Thursday?

“Further spells of rain and drizzle on Thursday.”

Jesus Christ, lads.

Nevertheless, throughout the week, temperatures will remain relatively high — ranging from the mid-teens to the mid-twenties across the country. So at least we’ll dry off fairly quickly, if nothing else.
