Here’s what the weather looks like over the weekend

Start making those plans.

The last three weeks has seen a sort of selective amnesia fall over the country of Ireland. It’s almost like people around the country are forgetting what blankets, rain and jumpers feel like.

Ok, the good weather hasn’t had that much of an impact on our collective psyche but there’s no denying the fact that it has seen the majority of us – for the better – moving out of the comfort zone.

Then again, we’re not going to say no to a bit of rain. Lads, the humidity.

Anyways, with the semi-finals in the hurling to come and plenty of League of Ireland matches to watch over the weekend, here’s what’s in store for anyone that’s out and about…or you just might prefer to chill in the garden/beach/beer garden etc.

On that note, here’s what the people at Met Éireann have said about this weekend’s weather.

Today will be cloudy in the west with spells of rain. Elsewhere, it should be mainly dry with sunny spells.

During the evening the rain will gradually move further eastwards with maximum temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees over the western half of the country but it will become very warm in central and eastern counties. Highest temperatures will range from 22 to 26 degrees.

As for tonight, outbreaks of rain will spread to eastern parts of the country while the west will be generally dry. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees.

Looking ahead to Friday and it’s set to be clear in the east during the morning and most areas will be dry with sunny spells. However, rain will develop in the west again by midday. Highest temperatures will be between 17 and 22 degrees, highest over central parts.

As for Friday night, the conditions will take a slight turn for the worse with outbreaks of rain continuing and there’s the potential for a few heavy rainfalls. Minimum temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

Moving into Saturday and it’s expected to be fresh and breezy with sunny spells and scattered showers, merging into longer spells of rain in the north. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees.

Saturday night should be drier though with lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees predicted.

Last but not least, it’s set to rain on Sunday morning but this should dry up in the afternoon with sunshine expected.

Warm with maximum temperatures of 19 to 24 degrees.
