Weather

After the great recent weather, here’s what’s in store.

To say that it has been ‘mixed’ on the weather front in recent weeks would be a massive understatement. Over the last two weeks, counties in Ireland have faced status yellow warnings for rain/wind and more recently, high temperatures.

Go home summer, you’re drunk.

Well, after the weekend was positively glorious for parts of the country, here’s what Met Éireann are forecasting for the week ahead.

This morning should be cloudy with some scattered outbreaks of rain. Conditions will improve later in the afternoon with sunny spells and a few showers. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees.

Tonight will be mainly dry in the south and east with clear spells but scattered showers will continue elsewhere with cloud and patchy rain moving into Ulster later.

Monday morning will see showers in the northern and eastern parts of the country. It should brighten up for the afternoon though with sunny spells and most places becoming dry. Highest temperatures 15 to 21 degrees.

Tuesday will see similar conditions prevailing with with a mix of cloud and sunshine. Maximum temperatures 15 to 19 degrees.  As for Wednesday, another dry day with sunny spells is expected with highs of 17 to 20 degrees.

Thursday is set to be dry too with variable cloud and warm sunny spells. Highest temperatures 16 to 22 degrees. However, there’s a risk of some rain/drizzle in the north overnight but it’s going to be mainly dry elsewhere.

Heading into the weekend and Friday should be cloudy in the north with some light rain or showers at times. However, it’s set to be dry in the more southern counties with the best of any sunshine in the southwest. Maximum temperatures 16 to 21 degrees.

All in all, bright and dry for the most part. We’r happy with that!
