Holly Willoughby has pleaded guilty to knocking a motorcyclist off their bike while driving, it has been reported.
The Mail reported that, although Willoughby did not show for her court hearing at Lavender Hill Magistrates this morning (Tuesday 2 December), she did plead guilty to driving without due care and attention via post.
The 44-year-old former This Morning host was accused of knocking off the scooter driver while at the wheel of her Mini Cooper on August 28 this year.
The Mail reported that footage was shown in court of the TV presenter failing to indicate before turning right into a side street as the scooter, a white Piaggio, tried to overtake her.
Willoughby has now admitted to breaking the man's back after knocking him off his scooter.
The rider of the bike suffered a fracture to their neck and a broken toe.
Aisling Byrnes, defending, said Willoughby suffered a "momentary lapse judgement".
"The intention was to turn right, which she did without indicating and the rider was thrown from the motorbike. This resulted in the injury to the rider: a C7 fracture and a broken toe.
"I do have a statement from the victim. He was riding his white Piaggio scooter, approximately 180 metres before the traffic lights, which were showing red at the time.’
The victim’s statement read: "I was travelling at a speed of around 20mph and was slowing down to stop.
"As I was level with the black Mini Cooper the driver turned right without indicating in order to enter the road. This caused me to be thrown to the ground in the carriageway."
Willoughby was fined £2,444 including court costs and handed six points on her licence, it has been reported
