Meanwhile, another inquiry has actually expanded upon their initial investigations in the last few days.

One of two investigations into the President Donald Trump and Russia collusion allegations have called an end to their inquiry on Monday, claiming that while there was certainly evidence that Russia had involved itself in the 2016 election, there was no evidence that they had attempted to sway the election in favour of Trump.

Representative K. Michael Conaway of Texas, who had been leading the investigation for House Intelligence Committee Republicans, stated the following:

“The bottom line: The Russians did commit active measures against our election in ’16, and we think they will do that in the future. We disagree with the narrative that they were trying to help Trump.”

“We found no evidence of collusion. We found perhaps some bad judgement, inappropriate meetings.”

“But only Tom Clancy or Vince Flynn or someone else like that could take these series of inadvertent contacts with each other, meetings, whatever, and weave that into some sort of a fiction and turn it into a page-turner, spy thriller.”

Meanwhile, The New York Times reports that special council Robert Mueller is pursuing new lines of inquiry related to the case that have been left largely unexplored by the committee, following reports that new evidence has emerged and has expanded his inquiry.
