Hundreds of UFO sightings have been reported in Ireland through a popular app.

Enigma is the place where Unidentified Flying Object (UFOs) and other inexplicable sky sightings are logged.

With an interactive map, witness accounts, photos, videos, identifying lenses, and more, Enigma is ideal for mystery enthusiasts.

Additionally, you can set up alerts to ensure you don't miss out on any sightings near you.

So far, there have been over 500 sightings in Irish skies, with one user in Dún Laoghaire reporting a 'fireball' going faster than a normal airplane.

"It appeared to be red in colour and emitted 2 fireballs from the back that dropped from the sky but disintegrated.

"It made a turn much sharper than an airplane or any other craft could. From my eyesight, the thing looked about a centimetre in diameter, and it then disappeared," added the user.

Another app user in Craigavon, Northern Ireland made an entry after spotting a black sphere 'extremely high in the sky'.

"It was slow moving. It was above the really high wispy clouds.

"Visibility was clear, weather was excellent," they explained.

Down in Kerry, one Enigma user reported a 'grey saucer' that appeared behind a mountain.

"I was aiming for a shot of the landscape when I saw the object come into view. I watched it cross the sky until it went out of sight behind the hills on the left.

"We had seen a helicopter just a few moments before this headed in the opposite direction, but at a great altitude," they continued.
