An 18-month-old boy has been left seriously injured following a dog attack in Callan, Co Kilkenny.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the incident, which involved two dogs.
The attack happened at a house in Callan at 3 pm yesterday.
The little boy was rushed to Children's Health Ireland, Crumlin.
It is understood that the boy's injuries are serious, however, they are not believed to be life-threatening.
The scene has been preserved to facilitate a technical examination.
According to Gardaí, the two dogs were removed from the house, and arrangements are currently being made with local veterinary services to get them euthanised.
Investigations are ongoing.
