Sunday was one of the hottest days of the year so far.

The PSNI are investigating an incident in which a dog passed away having been locked in a parked car in Enniskillen on Sunday.

At approximately 2.05pm, police were informed that a dog was in distress whilst locked in a parked car in the Wellington Road area of Enniskillen.

The window of the vehicle was broken by a member of the public in order to retrieve the distressed animal, which was taken to a local vet, where it was pronounced dead.

Two people are helping police with their enquiries and an investigation is ongoing.
