Investigation launched after body is found in south Dublin

The body was found on Thursday morning.

An investigation has been launched after a body was found in Dublin on Thursday morning (17 September).

Gardaí are investigating the discovery of the body on land in Blackrock Park in south Dublin.

Gardaí said that the body appears to have been in situ for a period of time before being discovered. It remains unclear quite how long the body had been there before it was discovered.

The scene is currently being preserved for technical examination.

The body has been removed for post-mortem, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.
