The discovery was made on Friday morning shortly before 9am.
Gardaí in Dún Laoghaire are investigating the discovery of a male body on Friday morning in a laneway in Dalkey, South County Dublin,
The body was discovered at approximately 8.30am in a laneway that leads to an apartment block just off Convent road in Dalkey.
It's understood that the man's remains are still at the scene and the area has been sealed off for a Technical examination.
The office of the State Pathologist has been notified and Gardaí are currently appealing for witnesses.
Anyone who may have been on that laneway overnight or early on Friday morning or anyone with any information is asked to contact Dun Laoghaire Garda station on 01 6665000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
