Ireland are considering a bid to host the 2030 World Cup

Homenews

This would be huge...

While we didn't quite make the cut to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup, we eventually lost out to France following a long campaign *shakes fist angrily*, it seems a bid is being considered for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The FAI has revealed that they're conducting a feasibility review into a potential joint-bid for the 2030 competition along with England, Wales and Scotland. In a statement on Wednesday evening, the FAI said:
"Following recent positive discussions amongst all parties it has been agreed that the Football Association of Ireland will join the English, Irish, Welsh and Scottish FAs in conducting a feasibility review into a potential joint bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup."
Qatar are planned as hosts of the 2022 finals, and 2026 will be a joint hosted finals between Canada, the United States and Mexico. Can you imagine Ireland lining out for a World Cup game in the Aviva?
