Ireland is the ninth most generous country in the world and the third most generous in Europe, according to new research.
The Charities Aid Foundation‘s annual index tells us the proportion of people that give to charity, help a stranger and do volunteer work in the past month.
Ireland’s are behind the UK and Netherlands who ranked 6th and 7th respectively while Myanmar was found to be the most generous country in the world.
Here’s a table of the top 20 countries.
Those figures show that almost 7 out of 10 Irish people donated to charity, 6 out of 10 helped a stranger and 4 out of ten volunteered in the last month.
