We still don’t know the Irish Euromillions winner, but we know the ticket was sold in Malahide

Euromillions draw

Whoever did win is taking their sweet time about coming forward.

Almost a week on from the draw, Ireland’s latest Euromillions winner has yet to come forward to claim the whopping €38.9 million that will soon be coming his or her way.

Despite the National Lottery issuing an appeal earlier this week, the jackpot winner has yet to reveal themselves, although the revelation that the winning ticket was purchased in The Village Shop in Malahide in Dublin might help jog the winner’s memory.

It’s not the first time someone has had Euromillions success after purchasing a ticket in the shop, with Amy Cong, the owner, revealing that a winning Euromillions Plus Draw ticket worth €350,000 was purchased in the shop a few years’ back.

The National Lottery issued a statement earlier this week urging Euromillions players in Dublin to check their tickets.

“We are urging all our players to check their tickets to see if they are the lucky winner or winners. At this stage, we don’t know if it’s a single winner or a syndicate,” the statement read.

“We advise anybody who has this ticket to keep it safe until they can get into the National Lottery office. This is a valuable piece of paper. We are open after the New Year’s break on Tuesday [2 January] and we look forward to welcoming the winner or winners into the iconic Winner’s Room.”

In case you need reminding, those winning numbers were 4, 8, 22, 23, 48, and the lucky stars were 1 and 12.

If you think you might have purchased a ticket in The Village Shop, look under the couch, in your pockets or in the bin if you have to; it could be you after all…
