In case you've missed the news, Brad Pitt is currently in Ireland to film his new movie, One for All.
The Hollywood star arrived in Dublin last week and has been staying in Dalkey, the south Dublin neighbourhood that also welcomed Matt Damon during his visit to Ireland in 2020.
Pitt will be staying in Ireland for the next two weeks while shooting scenes for his upcoming A24 production, which is based on Tim Winton’s 1994 novel The Riders.
The actor has been filming scenes at Bullock Harbour in Dalkey, as reported by The Irish Sun.
Dalkey and its neighbouring town, Killiney, are famous for attracting both Irish and international celebrities, especially along Vico Road and Sorrento Terrace.
Some famous current and former residents include U2’s Bono and The Edge, singer Enya, director Neil Jordan, and broadcaster Pat Kenny.
The upcoming film marks a collaboration between Brad and acclaimed director Edward Berger, with whom he has joined forces to adapt Tim Winton’s 1994 novel The Riders for the big screen.
Parts of the story are set in Ireland, making the country a central backdrop for the adaptation.
A synopsis for the film reads: “Fred Scully (Pitt), who, after travelling through Europe for two years, winds up in Ireland with his wife and daughter. And on a mystical whim of his wife, Jennifer, they buy an old farmhouse that stands in the shadow of a castle.
“While Scully spends weeks alone renovating the old house, Jennifer returns to Australia to liquidate their assets. When Scully arrives at Shannon Airport to pick up Jennifer and their 7-year-old daughter, Billie, it is Billie who emerges — alone.
“There is no note, no explanation, not so much as a word from Jennifer, and the shock has left Billie speechless. In that instant, Scully’s life falls to pieces.”
Several stunning Irish locations will feature in the film, with scenes planned around Lough Tay in County Wicklow, also known as the Guinness Lake, and additional filming scheduled in Dublin, Cork, and Kerry.
Brad Pitt will star alongside Julianne Nicholson, best known for her roles in Boardwalk Empire and Mare of Easttown, as well as newcomer Coco Greenstone.
Ireland is not the only breathtaking location for the film; production is also taking place across Europe, including on the Greek island of Hydra.
