Laura Holland

A number of Irish flights to America have been cancelled.

The flights affected include those flying to New York, Boston and Newark from Shannon and Dublin.

Aer Lingus has updated passengers saying that all flights, including their own, have been cancelled tomorrow due to Storm Stella.

Six flights from Dublin Airport have been cancelled, while three flights are affected at Shannon Airport.

The east coast of the States, particularly New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts, are bracing themselves for Storm Stella. Forecasters predict that 18 inches of snow could cover the area.

The DailyMail reports that 5,000 flights worldwide have been affected by Storm Stella.

Passengers are advised to check with their airline before travelling to the airport.
