Very sad news.
An Irish man has died in Bali following a scooter crash that took place in the early hours of Sunday morning (24 July).
News station 9News named the deceased as 26-year-old Keith Thomas Coughlan, noting that he had been found in a drainage ditch on the North Kuta road by a local resident.
The discovery was made at approximately 5am on Sunday morning.
According to reports, the local spotted Coughlan’s legs trapped beneath the wreckage, having used the light from their phone to explore the scene.
Coughlan had reportedly been living in Freemantle in western Australia.
Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has said it is providing consular assistance to Coughlan’s family.
