No, not that type of bleedin’ muppet…

The Muppets latest movie, Muppets Most Wanted, sees the colourful characters travelling around the world as they try and hunt down the evil mastermind Constantine, who just so happens to be Kermit’s doppelgänger, and one of Ireland’s most popular broadsheets makes a cameo appearance in the movie.

The Irish Times makes its Disney debut in Muppets Most Wanted and the story makes for one fairly funny headline over on the Irish Times website.

According to the movie’s director James Bobin, the Irish Times is “the” newspaper he thought of when thinking about Ireland, so naturally, the broadsheet had to make an appearance somewhere.

Speaking about the paper’s cameo the editor of the Irish Times, Kevin O’Sullivan, said: “Disney were even faithful to the typeface in our front page masthead. I like that attention to detail.”
