“Is there literally nothing that can shame you?” UN ambassador’s powerful words to Syria, Russia and Iran

Samantha Power echoes the thoughts of people watching the destruction of Aleppo.

Samantha Power, the US ambassador to the United Nations, has spoken powerfully about the deaths of hundreds of civilians in Aleppo as the Syrian government take control of the besieged city.

As a deal was reached to evacuate rebels and civilians from Aleppo, Power spoke out.

Russia’s ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, confirmed on Tuesday night that the last rebel strongholds had fallen and fighting had ceased.

The UN had reported ‘summary killings’ of civilians by government forces, aided by their allies in both Russia and Iran.

Under the terms of the deal and according to The Guardian, a ceasefire went into effect at 6pm local time.
