The Irish recruitment website that could change the jobseekers market

Stephen and John Quinn plan to shake up the recruitment market in Ireland with Jobbio and JOE decided to take a closer look.

The two brothers are already well experienced businessmen despite their tender years and Jobbio is designed to shake up the jobseekers industry by delivering the best talent to organistaions. JOE spoke to Stephen and John to find out more.

JOE: What are the main differences that make Jobbio different for the jobseekers out there?

Stephen:We believe we provide an unrivalled offering for job seekers. We give them a totally private platform to tell their story better. Using our simple platform they can detail their education, experience, achievements etc, link their blogs, integrate their social networks like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, upload images to display a portfolio and embed video from YouTube or Vimeo.

John: We then give them ability to discover opportunities with businesses and apply for them with a click. All online (and soon to be on mobile). It takes no time to join up, it’s free and it is fully private. Just go to www.onjobbio.com and get started!

JOE: What is the live Bio all about?

Stephen: We think the way people apply for jobs is broken. All over the world people sending in CV’s to [email protected] email addresses. What if all the companies accepted CV’s digitally? And when the talent changed their details, the company always had the latest version. So no more ‘on file in a cabinet’, most likely shredded. You are live and in control of your own data.

JOE: What made you so confident that there was a gap in the market for what Jobbio offers?

John: We went and asked both jobseekers and business. We went and spoke to as many as we could. I think with 140 companies already signed up to use Jobbio and over 10k users already there is definitely a demand for change. The process can’t stay as it is, it simply isn’t efficient enough for the brands or the talent. 140 global brands to small business owners agree with us !

JOE: Are you confident that Ireland is the best place for you to start this business?

Stephen: Yes. We have fantastic support systems for start ups in Ireland. We have received support from both our local enterprise board and now we have progressed to be an Enterprise Ireland High Potential Start Up client.

We think we are looking at a global opportunity, there is no reason we see that we can’t do this from Ireland, creating jobs here.

JOE: How did you go about gathering so much financial backing so quickly and what has made your backers so confident?

John: We identified this as a global opportunity quite early. We needed partners that could understand and fund this plan. Simply put, they ‘got it’. They are based in London so we flew over a couple of times to meet them. They liked the story, they see the opportunity and they were willing to back the team to execute the plan.

Do you see Jobbio working with the existing recruitment agencies?

Stephen: We don’t, we have one major rule on Jobbio. We don’t allow recruitment agencies on it. We have created a platform to connect talented people directly to brilliant brands. So we don’t think it is appropriate to have agencies on our platform.

Check out the website and have look for yourself right here how it all works.
