Gardaí have also revealed the amount of these threats they consider to be critical or substantial.

According to Assistant Garda Commissioner Pat Leahy, 522 in Dublin have had threats made against their lives, many of which are in relation to the violent Kinahan-Hutch feud.

This feud is one of three in the capital that Leahy claims (via RTE News) you “can’t take your eyes” off, with the other two happening in Finglas and Ballymun.

The Assistant Garda Commissioner claims that the majority of the threats are against people living in the north inner city, which is where the majority of the feud related killings have already taken place.

Of the 522 people who have been issued a Garda Information Message warning them that their lives are in danger, ten are deemed to be critical, 171 substantial, 51 severe, 136 moderate, 110 are low and 43 are still under assessment.

Leahy was speaking last night after addressing a joint policing committee meeting at Dublin City Hall, where we also revealed that under the special anti-gangland Operation Hybrid there have been 55,842 checkpoints, 9,575 patrols and 16,069 searches since the murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel in February 2016.
