RIP Christy.
The golfing world is today mourning the loss of Christy O’Connor senior.
A legendary Irish golfer, O’Connor played in ten consecutive Ryder Cups, 15 world cups, and came close to winning a Major when he came second at the 1965 British Open.
The popular former Irish professional was inducted into the prestigious World Golf Hall of Game in 2009.
According to RTÉ, the Galwayman died peacefully in hospital on Saturday.

He was uncle to Christy O’Connor Junior, who passed away in January aged 67.
