Man arrested following number of assaults of a woman in Limerick

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

A man has been arrested following a serious assault incident in Limerick city that took place earlier this week.

Between 11.15pm on Sunday (17 July) and 1.45am on Monday, a woman in her 40s was assaulted on a number of occasions on Parnell Street and Parnell Place.

The woman was removed from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for injuries.

A man in his 40s was arrested in relation to the incident and appeared before Limerick District Court on Tuesday morning (19 July).

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident, in particular to those who were in the Colbert Station/Parnell Street/Parnell Place/Hyde Road/Davis Street areas of Limerick between 11pm and 2am.

Gardaí are also appealing to those with video footage, including dash-cam, to make it available to them.
