Woo!
Savvy businessman and self-promoter that he is, there’s no doubt that when Conor McGregor started taking shots at the WWE, he was letting himself in for an awful lot of exposure.
WWE wrestlers past and present have dutifully provided the Crumlin native with the publicity he was after – with legends like Ric Flair lining up on Twitter just to assure him that there are many on the WWE roster who could beat him up.
Flair went the furthest, accusing McGregor of copying his persona.
Coming from a guy who built a career copying my persona, I expected the type of class we get from Ronda or Anderson. pic.twitter.com/iVoC0Xva5g

Flair also argued that professional wrestlers like Dolph Ziggler and Brock Lesnar “could tie Conor in a knot.”
After Diaz finishes you again, I dare you to try guys like Dolph, Brock, or Fit.
Oh you're welcome for your gimmick pic.twitter.com/0qziVjlMav

AJ Styles took a slightly more subtle dig at UFC’s featherweight champion…
I think McGregor could do well in the featherweight division……if the WWE had one. https://t.co/90XGpSICS9

Even Conor McGregor’s compatriot Sheamus couldn’t resist slamming McGregor for his disrespectful comments about the WWE.
McGregor takes on Diaz at the upcoming UFC202, but after this back-and-forth, it’s hard to see how the Dublin man can avoid combat with at least one of the WWE’s Superstars.
Sorry pal no disrespect to u, but my fights are legit, unlike the fixed fights u have in @UFC. I’ll embarrass u. https://t.co/X5WCyeHYbf
