The arrest in Wexford on Tuesday follows the arrest of a man under similar circumstances in Limerick on Monday night.

A man with links to Rachid Redouane, one of three men identified as being responsible for the attack in London in which seven people were killed and a further 48 were injured on Saturday night, has been arrested.

According to the Irish Times, the arrest was carried out by members of the Special Detectives Unit, which investigates terrorism, at approximately 5pm on Tuesday, June 6.

As was the case with a Moroccan national arrested in Limerick on Monday night, the arrest was in relation to documents linking the man with Rachid Redouane, who lived for a period in Rathmines in Dublin and was married in Ireland.

The Limerick arrest, however, was carried out detectives attached to the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) and the man has since been released without charge.
