Nearly 20 people have been killed due to this feud.

The new Lord Mayor Dublin has offered to make the Mansion House available for a potential mediation talk between the city’s gangs.

In an attempt to reach some kind of understanding, Lord Mayor Nial Ring has said that he is a qualified mediator and has made himself available to both sides of the feud.

The independent councillor’s north inner city is the constituency where the majority of the violence has occurred to date, with 18 people reported to have been killed due to direct or indirect connections to the feud.

Speaking to Newstalk, he answered whether he would be afraid to speak to the criminals involved:

“Absolutely not, I mean anything I can do as Lord Mayor to help solve this particular problem and this particular feud, I would be delighted to do.”

“I think it would be incumbent upon me to make the house available.”
