The service will cease at midday.

A notice has been issued to commuters who regularly use the Luas that the service will stop running from midday on Monday.

Dublin’s Luas service will cease operating from midday on Monday as one of the biggest storms in the history of the country makes its way up from the south-west.

The following notice has been issued…

The Luas Red and Green Line services will be curtailed from 10am onwards today.

Trams are being brought back to the Luas depots where they will be stored safely.

There will be no tram service from approx. midday for the remainder of the day.

Normal service will resume tomorrow Tuesday 17/10/2017 at 5.30am.

This decision was made for a number of reasons:

Electricity in the overhead power lines must be turned off and cannot be turned on until a visual and technical inspection is under taken this evening.
Staff Safety is our priority
The infrastructure will also need to be checked for debris and water levels.
Normal service will resume tomorrow.

Luas will review the situation on an ongoing basis and is taking advice from Met Éireann and the National Emergency Coordination Committee.

Please watch Luas.ie, Twitter @luas and AA Roadwatch for update.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
