Lyra McKee was shot and killed on Thursday night.

Details regarding journalist Lyra McKee's funeral has been released, following her death last week. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 24 April at St Anne's Cathedral in Belfast. In a message posted by her partner Sara Canning, she explained that she wanted McKee's funeral to be a celebration of her life. Canning wrote: "Lyra's funeral will take place on Wednesday at 1pm at St Anne’s Cathedral Belfast. It’s going to be a celebration of her life and if people would like to wear Hufflepuff, Harry Potter, or Marvel related items I know she would love it." Ms. McKee's remains will afterwards be interred in Carnmoney Cemetery in Glengormley. A murder investigation has been launched following her death, which occurred during an episode of orchestrated violence in the Fanad Drive area of Creggan. Two men have been arrested following the incident, while an investigation is ongoing.
