The incident happened near the Finglas exit on the M50.
A person has died following a serious crash on the M50 on Thursday afternoon.
Gardaí have confirmed that a crash between a truck and a car on the M50 Northbound at Junction 5 has resulted in a fatality.
In a statement posted on the Garda Traffic Twitter page, they urged passing motorists on the M50 Northbound to remain focused on their driving and to not cause unnecessary delays.
They also stated that the slip road will remain closed for a number of hours.
A spokesperson for the Gardaí has said that Gardaí remain at the scene, and that investigations are going.
Update: This RTC has now been confirmed a Fatal RTC and Gardaí are at scene. Slip Road will remain closed for a number of hours. Passing motorists on the M50 Northbound at junction 5 are requested to remain focused on their driving and not cause unnecessary delays.
