Major disruption to tram services after car gets stuck on Luas tracks

It was described as an ‘unusual road traffic incident’.

Dublin Fire Brigade have revealed that they were called out to an unusual traffic incident earlier this week when a vehicle got stuck on the Luas track.

The incident, which left commuters facing major disruptions, was attended to by firefighters from Dolphin’s Barn.

Taking to X, Dublin Fire Brigade shared images from the scene and wrote: “There was disruption to tram services last night as Dolphins Barn firefighters were called to an unusual road traffic incident.

“A vehicle was stuck on the tram tracks and services were able to resume following recovery and an inspection of the line.”

The incident, which took place on Monday February 5, was resolved eventually resolved with Luas servicing returhttps://www.joe.ie/life-style/luasning to usual soon after.

Last month there was a similar incident when a car collided with one of the trams causing severe delays on the Red Line.

That incident took place on the Suir Road stop and led to the Luas management warning of significant delays until it was resolved.
