A major retailer is set to disappear for good from the UK and Irish high street tomorrow as they close all 154 shops.
It's no secret that the high street has been struggling in recent times with a number of large retailers and businesses falling into administration.
Poundland, River Island, and a number of travel agents have flirted with administration, been forced to restructure, or disappeared completely from the high street since last year.
This all comes after another giant, The Original Factory Shop, closed all its stores for good in mid-April.
Now, the latest chain to disappear is Claire's, a company known to have been in trouble for some time.
The company went into administration for the second time in January 2026, appointing administrators Kroll to manage the transition.
All of Claire's standalone stores will be shut down while 350 concessions and its European stores will remain open.
Claire's was founded in 1961 as Fashion Tress Industries by Rowland Schaefer, initially focusing on fashion wigs before acquiring a jewellery chain and shifting to accessories in 1973.
The accessory shop struggled with changing consumer habits and the cheaper prices of online brands such as Shein and Temu.
The store remains a nostalgic part of many people's childhoods, known for their colourful branding and turnstiles of jewellery.
Administrators Kroll said: "As of 27 April, all Claire's standalone stores in UK and Ireland have ceased trading. All store employees have been advised of redundancy.
The move has left 1,300 people redundant.
Previous owners Modella said that the company had entered administration partly due to an "alarmingly" quiet Christmas period.
Here is the full list of locations of Claire's stores as per their website, before they all close tomorrow:
