Malahide Beach swimming ban issued as warm weather continues across Ireland

Uisce Éireann notified the relevant authorities of the overflow, with the notice issued by Fingal County Council in consultation with the HSE.

The beach remains open to the public, but beach users have been asked to respect the Do Not Swim notice and avoid entering the water while it is in place.

The notice comes as Ireland is experiencing a spell of warm and humid weather.

Today, Tuesday, will be warm or very warm and dry for most of the country, with spells of sunshine and temperatures of up to 27C.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, is also expected to be very warm, with Met Éireann issuing a Status Yellow high temperature warning for Leinster and Tipperary fro 6am in Friday, August 14.

Temperatures are expected to peak between 23C and 29C.

Some scattered outbreaks of rain or showers are expected, particularly in the west, although there will also be spells of sunshine, particularly in the east and southeast.

Thursday is expected to remain warm with temperatures reaching between 20C and 28C. Despite this, some showers are expected in the west and northwest, and isolated thunderstorms are possible.

Conditions are expected to become cooler by Friday when temperatures will fall back to between 17C and 22C.

The weekend's weather currently looks uncertain, but indications suggest Saturday will bring sunny spells and scattered showers, while Sunday has the potential to be wetter.

Amid the high temperatures, Beaches.ie currently lists 12 other reported swimming restrictions nationwide.
