Man in his 40s dies following jeep crash in Clare

Tragic news.

A man in his 40s has died following a road crash that occurred in Clare on Friday afternoon (15 October).

At around 2.10pm, Gardaí received reports of single vehicle road traffic collision involving a jeep towing a trailer on the N18 in Bunratty.

The man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem will take place at a later date.

The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.

A technical examination is currently being conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

They are particularly appealing to any road users who were travelling on the road at the time with camera footage to make this available to them.
