A man in his 40s has died following a shooting in Dublin.
Gardaí are investigating the fatal shooting incident which occurred around 8.30am this morning Sunday, July 5 at Patrician Park, Kill Avenue, Dún Laoghaire.
In a statement, Gardaí confirmed that the man's body currently remains at the scene with a post-mortem examination set to take place in due course.
The scene is being preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau and the Coroner has been notified.
Road closures are currently in place, including at Kill Avenue and Glenageary Road Upper. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward as well as road users who may have camera/dash-cam footage and were travelling near Kill Avenue between 8.00am and 9.00am this morning.
