Tragic news.
A man in his 60s has been found dead following a house fire in Dublin on Friday (19 November).
Emergency services attended the scene of the “well-developed fire” at a residence in the Belgrove Road area of Clontarf at around 12.40pm.
The man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has since been removed to the morgue where a post mortem will be conducted at a later date.
The blaze was extinguished by Dublin Fire Brigade, who said its thoughts are with the man’s family, friends and neighbours at this difficult time.
One firefighter sustained a soft tissue injury at the scene but is expected to make a full recovery.
The scene was preserved by Gardaí for technical examination and investigations into the fire are ongoing.
Dublin Fire Brigade also urged people in a Twitter post to check their smoke alarms and make a home evacuation plan this weekend.

Our thoughts are with person’s family, friends and neighbours at this difficult time.
Take the opportunity this weekend to check smoke alarms and make a home evacuation plan.
