Investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s following a serious assault in Dublin on Monday night, 7 June.
The incident occurred on Fairview Strand in Dublin 3 around 11.10pm.
Gardaí received a report that a person had been assaulted by a group of individuals and attended the scene.
A man in his 60s was discovered unconscious at the scene was taken by emergency services to the Mater Hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.
A man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Clontarf Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
