A man aged in his 90s has died following a collision in County Laois.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of the fatal incident which occurred on the R433, Tullyroe, Abbeyleix, yesterday, Saturday June 27, at approximately 10.05am.
Emergency services responded to reports of the incident in which a moving car left the road and struck a parked car.
The male driver of the first car was brought to Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The coroner has been notified.
The second car was unoccupied at the time and no other injuries were reported.
The road was closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward as well as road users who may have camera/dashcam footage to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
