The incident occurred on Thursday.
A man has been arrested following a public order incident in Dublin city.
Gardaí were called to the scene of the public order incident in Dublin 8 on Thursday night, 18 March.
The suspect resisted arrest and attempted to flee the scene on foot.
After a short pursuit, the man was subsequently arrested by Gardaí.
Footage of an incident was shared online and in social messaging apps overnight with some comments purporting a Garda vehicle had been hijacked during the course of the incident.
However, JOE understands that these comments are not accurate and the vehicle was operated by a member of An Garda Síochána at all times.
In response to a query regarding the video, Gardaí said they are aware of footage of an incident circulating online but they do not comment on third party social media content.
