Gardaí appeal for witnesses following serious assault in Sligo
The victim, a man in his late 30s, is in a critical condition.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Sligo on Tuesday (19 April).
Emergency services attended the scene at Rockwood Parade shortly after 6pm.
A man in his late 30s was treated at the scene, and was then removed to Sligo University Hospital.
He has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin where his condition is described as critical.
The scene was preserved and a forensic examination has been conducted.
Any persons who were in the vicinity on Tuesday evening from 5pm to 6.15pm and also any persons who may have camera footage or dash cam footage from the location at the time of the incident is being asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
