Man charged after investigation into multiple robberies at Dublin train stations

The robberies took place at Dart stations this month.

Gardaí have arrested and charged one man in his late teens following an investigation into various incidents of theft that took place at train stations in Dublin in January this year.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said the incidents being investigated include:

  • Five robberies from persons at Shankill Dart Station on 15 January, 2022
  • Two robberies from persons at Sandycove Dart Station on 11 January, 2022
  • One attempted robbery from a person at Seapoint Dart Station on 8 January, 2022

The man was arrested on Tuesday (18 January) and was taken to Blackrock Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

"He was later charged in relation to these incidents and appeared before Dun Laoghaire District Court this morning, Wednesday, 19 January," the spokesperson said.

"He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court on 21 January at 10.30am."
