A man has been charged over vandalism of The George in Dublin at the weekend

The man is in his 20s.

A man in his 20s will appear before Dublin District Court on Monday morning, charged with vandalising the outside of The George pub on South Great George’s Street in Dublin over the weekend.

According to The Irish Times, the man was arrested for criminal damage to the property over the weekend and detained at Pearse Street Garda station.

Staff at the venue removed the homophobic and anti-Semitic slogans on Sunday morning.

They had been written in chalk in the early hours of Sunday morning. The man’s actions were captured on three of The George’s CCTV cameras.
