Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A man in his early 60s is in a critical condition following a single vehicle collision in Leitrim on Sunday (21 November).
The collision occurred shortly after 4pm at Fivemilebourne, Dromahire, Co. Leitrim, where Gardaí from Manorhamilton attended the scene.
The male driver left the road and struck a ditch. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.
The man has since been removed from the scene to Sligo University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. This includes any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the R278 at Fivemilebourne on Sunday 21st November, 2021.
