Very sad news.
Gardaí have confirmed that a man has died following a road traffic collision on Lad Lane in Dublin 2, an area near the city centre.
The incident occurred at around 10.45am this morning (28 April).
Emergency services attended the scene and brought the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle to St. Vincent's Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene, which has been closed, with local diversions put in place by Gardaí.
Gardaí in Pearse Street are now appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward, and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time to make it available to Gardaí.
