The incident occurred on Friday evening.
A man has died following a fatal road traffic collision involving a jeep and a car that occurred at approximately 5pm on Friday, 6 September.
The incident took place on the N63 at Rooaunmore, Claregalway, Galway.
A man in his 70s was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Galway. He was later pronounced dead.
A post mortem is due to take place at a later date and no further injuries were reported.
Forensic Collision Investigators attended the scene and the road has since re-opened.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward as well as any motorists that were travelling on the N63 at Rooaunmore, Claregalway at approximately 5pm who may have dashcam footage.
