Man (30s) dies following road collision in Donegal

The incident, involving a single car, occurred at Three Trees in Donegal in the early hours of Monday morning.

A man in his mid-30s has died as a result of a road collision in Donegal in the early hours of Monday morning.

Gardaí in Muff, emergency services and the Coast Guard attended the scene of a single-vehicle collision that occurred at Three Trees, Quigley’s Point in Donegal at approximately 4am on Monday morning (3 February).

A male driver, aged in his mid-30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The R238 Muff/Moville road (R238) is currently closed for Garda Forensic Collision Investigators with local diversions in place and is expected to re-open later on Monday afternoon.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding this incident, particularly any road users with camera footage who were travelling the Muff/Moville road between 3am and 4.30am on Monday, to contact Buncrana Garda Station on (074) 932 0540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
