Gardaí suspect the man died in a “tragic accident.”
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána has confirmed that a man in his 20s has died following an incident while he was working on a car.
The man was working on a car at Correllstown, Kinnegad in Westmeath when the incident occurred.
Gardaí say they were made aware of the unspecified incident at around 8pm yesterday evening (Friday 12 June). Emergency services attended the scene and brought the man to Midlands Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
A file is currently being prepared for the local coroner’s office.
Gardaí have noted that they are treating the incident as a tragic accident.
