Man killed following road crash in Meath

Very sad news.

A man has died following a single vehicle road traffic collision in Meath on Monday.

The collision occurred around 1.55am on Patrick Street in Trim.

A man in his 40s was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided with a wall.

He was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown where he later passed away.

As the car involved in this collision had come to the attention of Gardaí prior to the incident, An Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) have been notified.

Gardaí in Trim are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

Any person who was in the vicinity of Patrick Street between 1.30am and 2.00am on Monday morning, including any road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam), is asked to get in touch.

Investigations are ongoing.
