UPDATE: Man passes away following serious collision on the M50

Gardaí are looking for witnesses to the crash.

Gardaí have confirmed that a 29-year-old male motorcyclist has passed away following a serious collision that took place on the M50 on Tuesday morning.

The man was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown following the incident, with his condition described as critical.

An official update from An Garda Síochána issued on Tuesday evening confirmed that the man subsequently passed away as a result of his injuries.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place at a later date.

The road where the incident occurred has since fully re-opened.

Investigations are ongoing.

An Garda Síochána have confirmed that a man has been left in critical condition following a serious collision on the M50.

The man had been driving a motorcycle at the time of the incident.

Gardaí confirmed that the collision occurred at the merging of the off-ramp and M50 at Junction 5 Southbound shortly before 8am on Tuesday morning (19 November).

The man, whose age is currently unknown, has been brought to hospital.

Gardaí are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, particularly any road users who may have dash-cam footage, to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01 666 7500 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
