Gardaí say the male sustained “a number of apparent gunshot wounds”.

A man has been seriously injured following a suspected shooting incident in Dublin on Wednesday evening (17 November).

Gardaí are investigating the incident that occurred at around 7.30pm at Ballyfermot Crescent in Ballyfermot.

A Garda spokesperson said the male sustained “a number of apparent gunshot wounds” and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

No injuries to other people from the incident have been reported and the scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí say that investigations are ongoing and that no arrests have been made at this time.

They are appealing to any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Also, any road users who were travelling in the Ballyfermot Crescent area between 7pm and 7.30pm who may have camera footage, including dashcam footage, are asked to make it available to Gardaí.
